Seven questions to ask before a venue buys karts
2024-06-18 · GEBI TECH
GEBI TECH does not sell complete karts on this site. The questions below are for a venue that is buying cars, to put to the kart supplier.
Start with the job. Rental, racing and tuition do not ask for the same top speed, protection or ease of driving. A race kart needs to be stable and quick. A tuition kart needs to be predictable, and to stop when asked.
Then the power. A petrol kart is usually faster, and it needs more maintenance. An electric kart is quieter and cleaner, which suits an indoor hall. Size and weight change how controllable the kart is. Match them to the people who will actually drive, not only to a photograph of a demo car.
On safety, at least check the belt, the roll hoop and the brakes, and ask which safety standard the kart is built to. Maintenance has to be counted as labour: petrol and electric do not share a service list. Reputation is about which parts can be replaced, and who comes when something breaks. Before you order, drive the kart on your own circuit. A lap on a flat exhibition floor is not that test.
Once the karts are chosen, fit the timing transponder where that device's instructions say. MotorKart V3 has a published detection height of 0.5 m. A domestic device is checked against its own instructions. The fitting height and the timing checks belong on the same sheet.
